BEING ALONE IN THE SEA OF SORROW

Hearing the sound of the rain

Cascading down in my steep roof

Looking outside and brooding life

Wafting the scent of lows and highs

Through the open rain-lashed window

I can feel now

My heart is tingling with excitement

Trees rustling and dancing gracefully

On the thick blanket of rain

Melancholy is neither sadness nor distress

But the state of being empty.

Me

Being alone

Looking around

Hearing the sound

Of fear and anxiety

Nagging away at me.

I try to seek peace

Finally

Just me

In the world of being almost happy.
